Kick-off meeting of the German-Ukrainian twinning-project on energy efficiency

On 01 February 2016 the kick-off meeting in the framework of the „Energy Efficiency in Warehousing Along Maritime Supply Chains“ project, short EnergyWare, took place in Bremen. It is supported by the International Cooperation Network for Countries from the Eastern Partnership (IncoNetEaP) and coordinated by German Aerospace Center (DLR).

Prof. Dr. Sergii Denysiuk, Prof. Dr. Oleg Kotsar and Ms. Yuliia Chernetska from the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (IEE) of National Technical University of the Ukraine „Kyiv Polytechnic Institute“ (NTUU “KPI”) as well as Assoc. Prof. Vera Baryshnikova from the Odessa National Maritime University (ONMU) participated as representatives from the project partner universities from Ukraine.

The objective of the project is to submit a joint proposal for the Horizon 2020 Energy-Call „Actual implementation of sustainable energy measures in industry and services”. During the first day the topics of energy-efficiency along maritime supply chains in buildings were discussed. Afterwards presentations Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen GmbH and WP Energy took place in regard with this project objective. Special thanks go out to Mr. Andreas Gerber and Mr. Dieter Voss who presented the activities of Wirtschaftsförderung GmbH and opened an aspiring discussion. Finally Ms. Diana Pfaff gave an overview of the activities of WP Energy.

The visit of the delegation from Ukraine has been efficiently used to coordinate the further steps and to discuss the focal points of the follow-up proposal for the Horizon 2020 Call. The project partners scheduled the next meeting in the framework of the international conference Energy Management: Status and Prospects – PEMS ´16  in Kyiv by the end of May 2016.
